How do I allow cookies?

What is an online debate?
An online debate offers the possibility to discuss one or several topics with a lot of different people from all over the world. This discussion makes it possible to show the different opinions and arguments of the participants in a fast and efficient way.

What are goals and results of the debate?
In this case the two rounds of the online debate have two different goals. The first round is to brainstorm. The goal is to map out all those issues that the participants consider relevant topics for the debate on biotechnology and food production. The Opinion map will be published on this site, available to everybody for further use.
In the second round the aim is give all participants the option to discuss the chosen topics. The summarized report is presented to the Terlouw Commission and published online.

How does the online debate work?
Register on this site. By clicking one of the four discussion topics on the start page you can enter the discussion rooms. Here you can read a short introductory statement on the topic by on of the four moderators Elenita Danos (SEARICE, Philipines), Miguel Rojas (Costa Rica, Canada), Victor Konde (Zambia, USA) and Theo van de Sande (DGIS, Netherlands). You can also access some background material. Follow the discussion. Think along, react. Submit your opinion. Vote on the quotes and topics.
